Until December 2013, the State Agriculture Inspectorate was a body within the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy competent for the adoption of the Law on State Agriculture Inspectorate and bylaws arising therefrom.InDecember 2013, with the adoption of the Law Amending the Law on the State Agriculture Inspectorate(Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 164/2013),the State Agriculture Inspectorate got the capacity of a legal entity andnow has its own budget account as a first-line budget user, conducts employment procedures independently in line with the Law and decides on the rights and obligations arising from employment.

The operation of the Inspectorate is managed by a Director who is appointed and dismissed by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, at the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy.The Director reports for his work to the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy.The Director takes measures and takes care of professional training and improvement of employees by organising professional and appropriate trainings in the country and abroad, for the uniform application of laws and related regulations, as well as for improvement of the working conditions of inspectors and adoptsan annual work program of the Inspectorate.

Pursuant to the Law Amending the Law on the State Agriculture Inspectorate (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 164/2013) and the Law Amending the Law on Inspection Supervision (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 147/2013),the Director of the State Agriculture Inspectorate prepares an annual work program of the inspection service and submits it to the Inspection Council.The annual work program of the State Agriculture Inspectorate is a method for implementation of plans and strategies in order to achieve the desired effect in the operation, i.e.higher quantity and quality in performing inspection supervisions in the Inspectorate.

Pursuant to the Law on the State Agriculture Inspectorate (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia, No. 20 of 16 February 2009),the inspection supervision in the area of agriculture, rural development, fishery and aquaculture is performed by the State Agriculture Inspectorate as a body within the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy.

Our mission is performing organised, efficient, effective, quality, functional inspection supervisions in the area of agriculture, rural development, fishery and aquaculture on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, professional training and development of its employees, strengthening the governance of law and combating organised crime.

Our vision is increasing the welfare and improving the living standards, development and revitalisation of rural areas in the Republic of Macedonia, improving the rule of law and reducing organised crime, which will ensure faster access to the EU.
